In a beach house designed for our owners and their families, the shared spaces matter just as much as the private ones. While bedrooms provide a place to recharge, the kitchen, dining, and outdoor living areas are where most of the day actually happens.
For this coastal home, those spaces were designed to feel inviting, functional, and easy to enjoy—whether hosting a full house or spending a quiet weekend at the beach.
Don’t miss the exterior and living spaces from part 1!

A Kitchen Designed for Gathering
The kitchen naturally serves as the heart of the home, and in a house built to accommodate multiple families, it needed to work hard.
One of the standout design features is the cabinetry. Instead of a traditional neutral palette, the kitchen features blue-green cabinets that bring warmth, depth, and personality to the space. The color feels especially fitting in a coastal home, subtly reflecting the surrounding environment while still feeling unique and elevated.
Paired with the cabinetry is a handmade tile backsplash that adds texture and visual interest. Together, these details give the kitchen character without overwhelming the overall design.

Quartz countertops were selected for both durability and practicality. In a high-traffic kitchen like this one, material selection matters. With multiple families sharing the space, surfaces need to hold up to daily use while remaining easy to maintain.
At the center of the kitchen is a large island designed to comfortably accommodate both Siegel families. Above the island hang two pendant lights that immediately draw attention. Their unique marble-like appearance, created from glass, adds a sculptural element to the space. They serve as both functional lighting and a strong design feature, helping anchor the kitchen visually.
Bringing Everyone to the Table
Just off the kitchen, the dining space continues the home’s thoughtful balance of function and design.

Because this home was built for gathering, seating capacity was an important consideration. The dining area was designed to comfortably accommodate large family meals, making it easy for everyone to come together in one place.
Wallpaper adds another layer of personality to the space. More than just a decorative feature, it helps tie together the colors used throughout the home, creating cohesion between rooms. The pattern brings warmth and visual interest while complementing the overall coastal feel of the house.

Above the dining table hangs a rattan light fixture that adds softness and texture. The natural material feels relaxed and appropriate for the setting, reinforcing the home’s casual but thoughtful design approach.
Outdoor Living at the Center
At the beach, outdoor living isn’t secondary—it’s essential. This home was designed to make moving between indoor and outdoor spaces feel effortless.
With multiple exits leading to the outdoor patio, there is a strong connection between the interior living spaces and the exterior entertaining areas. That flow makes the home feel larger and allows people to naturally move throughout the house during the day.

The outdoor space centers around a U-shaped patio and a darker, moodier saltwater pool. The pool creates a strong visual focal point while giving the outdoor area a more elevated feel.
Positioned near the heart of the home, the covered porch serves as a major gathering space. It includes a dining area, seating area, and television, allowing the space to function in multiple ways throughout the day.

Whether it’s breakfast in the morning, lounging in the afternoon, or watching a game in the evening, the porch was designed to support real use.

Material selections outdoors were just as important as those inside. Durable furniture was chosen to withstand sun exposure, storms, and regular use while still feeling comfortable and inviting.
The porch also features decking flooring, which offers a practical advantage while improving comfort underfoot. In an outdoor setting where people are constantly barefoot or moving in from the pool, this detail makes a noticeable difference in day-to-day comfort.
Designed for the Way Families Gather
Throughout the kitchen, dining, and outdoor spaces, the focus remained the same: create a home that works beautifully for real life.

Each area was designed to support gathering without sacrificing thoughtful design. From the blue-green cabinetry and handmade tile to the porch and pool, every detail contributes to a home built around the way people actually live at the beach.
At Twin Construction, that balance is always the goal—creating homes that feel beautiful, functional, and ready to be enjoyed for years to come. Interested in beginning your next project— contact us, we’d love to hear from you!
