The primary bathroom in this Homewood home is a classic oasis that perfectly blends elegance with thoughtful design. At its heart is a pristine white soaking tub, positioned gracefully in front of a large glass-enclosed walk-in shower. Designer Lydia Hurt strategically chose this layout to showcase the intricate details of the marble shower, ensuring they could be admired even from the vanity area, while allowing light to flood the shower. The custom vanity features warm greige cabinets with reeded detailing, adding texture and sophistication, while marble countertops and unlaquered brass plumbing fixtures complete the timeless and luxurious look. This bathroom is as functional as it is beautiful, offering a tranquil retreat for the homeowners.

While their son’s bathroom features khaki and dark gray stripes that feels masculine and classic, their daughter’s bathroom centers around a playful vibrant wallpaper. To accompany the detailed walls, we used a citron painted cabinet, lucite sconces, and glass cabinetry hardware, fitting with the tropical flair of the space.

Office: An Aesthetic Workspace

The office in this Homewood home exudes a bold, masculine energy, designed to be both functional and visually striking. Drenched in a deep, rich hue, the walls are further enhanced with crocodile-patterned wallpaper, adding a layer of texture and depth to the space. A statement brass light fixture provides a sleek contrast to the moody palette, creating a balance between sophistication and edge. This color-saturated study offers the perfect environment for focus and productivity while showcasing the homeowner’s love for impactful design.

Outdoor Living Spaces: A Seamless Transition to Nature

Outdoor living is an essential part of this home, and the exterior was designed to make the most of Alabama’s mild climate. The screened porch extends from the mud room, providing a comfortable space to enjoy fresh air year-round. Bluestone pavers add texture and sophistication, while the stone echoes the material used indoors, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living.

Large, open windows along the back of the home let in ample natural light and showcase the beautiful outdoor views, making it feel as if the home and landscape are one.
